Joe Manchin Needs To Keep Election Promises
CHARLESTON, W.VA. – In a critical vote and as a critical voter on whether to repeal or keep Obamacare, Joe Manchin chose to stand with President Obama rather than the people of West Virginia. In response, the West Virginia Republican Party is running full page, full color advertisements in certain West Virginia newspapers today.
“Joe Manchin messed up by supporting Obama and his massive healthcare bill over the people of West Virginia. If Senator Manchin intends to continue to vote the interests of Washington over the interests of West Virginians, we urge him to skip votes as he has in the past or not seek reelection in 2012,” said Mike Stuart, Chairman of the West Virginia Republican Party. “In response to Joe Manchin’s decision to turn his back on his promise to stop Obamacare, the WVGOP has purchased full page advertisements in West Virginia newspapers to inform our citizens of Senator Manchin’s regretful decision. Joe Manchin must be held accountable for his voting record.”
Stuart continued, “If Joe Manchin continues on his current path of skipping critical votes and supporting big-government liberal programs like Obamacare, today’s WVGOP response is but an appetizer in a smorgasbord of actions that we will take to try to ensure that West Virginia has a new U.S. Senator in 2012 that is committed solely to representing the interests of the people of West Virginia.”
