State GOP Chair to Visit Taiwan
STATE GOP CHAIR TO VISIT TAIWANStuart One Of Ten Nationally Selected By RNC Chairman Reince Priebus
CHARLESTON, WV – Mike Stuart, Chairman of the West Virginia Republican Party, has been selected by Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus to be part of a ten member national delegation to travel to Taiwan April 4th through April 11th. The trip is sponsored and coordinated by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO).
“It is a tremendous honor to be asked by Chairman Priebus to be part of a national delegation to travel to Taiwan this year,” said Mike Stuart, Chairman of the West Virginia Republican Party. “I am looking forward to representing West Virginia and my party in Taiwan as we visit with the nation’s leadership and work to strengthen ties between our nations.”
“International trade and international partners are critical to rebuilding West Virginia and the nation,” continued Mike Stuart. “I intend to work very hard to ensure that Taiwan’s business leaders understand the tremendous opportunity of locating business operations in our wonderful state. We have the finest workforce in the world.”
Mike Stuart continued, “The country of Taiwan imports coal and natural gas to meet nearly all of its energy needs. I plan to discuss with ROC President Ma Ying-jeou, members of his administration, the Legislative Yuan, and TECRO that West Virginia and the remarkable energy producers in our state are capable and prepared to assist in meeting Taiwan’s energy needs.”
“I appreciate the confidence Chairman Priebus has in my ability to be a strong advocate for our country and my state,” concluded Stuart. “From the moment I leave West Virginia, I will be working non-stop to create new opportunities for jobs and growth for West Virginia’s economy through international partnerships and collaboration.”
